Beginners Watercolour 6 week course

 Do you have an interest in using Watercolour but don’t know where to start? 

 Join Katharine on this beginners watercolour 6 week course as she introduces you to the medium you will learn about materials, practice techniques and complete a painting of your choice.  

Starting on Wednesday 3rd June and every Wednesday after that for 6 weeks.  Each weeks class is aprox 4 hrs from 10:30am – 2:30pm held at Katharine’s studio Skorkart at Halfpenny green vineyards.   

Watercolours are versatile and unpredictable medium to work in, here is a short breakdown of what we will learn in this course:

· Week 1: 3rd June

o introduction to materials 

o Colour wheel and mixing paint

o paint swatches

· Week 2: 10th June

o Watercolour painting techniques

o Initial Drawing practice

· Week 3: 17th June

o Simple Landscape painting

· Week 4: 24th June

o Simple Animal or still life painting   · Week 5: 1st July

o Begin final Painting

· Week 6: 8th July

o Finish final Painting  

This course is aimed at those who would like to learn new skills using watercolour in a relaxed informal atmosphere with likeminded people. It is suitable for complete beginners but also experienced artists wishing to try a different medium.  All materials are included for the duration of the course. You can provide your own photo reference for the final painting, but Katharine will have suitable photos for you to use as well.   Hot/cold drinks and snacks are included, feel free to bring a packed lunch.  

Max 4 people per class. £250 per person
